Dressmaking - Beginner

Tired of finding nothing in the shops to fit, ever think you would like to make a garment that would fit well and to your style. This is the class for you, no experience needed, we teach basic drafting, pattern checking, cutting, sewing and at least 2 - 3 garments finished and ready to wear by the end of the course. Ten, 2 hour classes day or evening, maximum 3 students each class, cost $400.00, half deposit required on booking 

Overlock 1

Know your overlock machine, many people do not use their overlockers to their full potential, or are afraid to change the settings for fear of "wrecking the machine". This course is also for people who would like to try out an overlocker to see if it is the machine for them. If you have an overlocker bring it along, if not, try ours, limit of 4 students per class, 1 1/2 hours $25.00 

Overlock 2

After mastering the basic course, this class will allow you to put your skills to practical use. We will make a tote bag using all the functions of the machine, handy for shopping and serves as a reminder of all you can do with the Overlocker. Notes and kit included, cost $45.00 limit of 4 students per session. 

Alterations & Repairs

Learn to take up jeans, replace a zipper, shorten jacket sleeves or revamp an old garment to give it new life or make it fit better.  Bring along 4 garments that need fixing, bring your machine of use one of ours, we limit classes to 4 people, 2 hours $40.00 

Machine Knowledge

Bought a new machine and not sure how to use it, what all those stitches are for, or do you have an older machine and are unsure of its potential, this is the course for you.  Bring your machine, any accessories, instruction book if you have one, only 4 students per class. 2 hours $40.00 

Home Decor

Personalise your home with cushion covers, table runners,curtains and all manner of adornments to jazz up your living area. Fitted sheets, doona covers, bedroom make overs, wall art the list is endless. Ring or email us for details. 

Bags, Bags, Bags

We have too many to list, oodles of totes, evening clutches, laptop shoulder carry alls, purses, mobile phone protectors, all bags large and small. Email or phone for more details. 

Beginner Patchwork

Have you thought you would like to try patchwork but did not know where to start, looked at the instructions in the magazines and thought it was too hard, then come to our beginner classes. We have a number of pre-cut kits ready for you to sew and have a fantastic result quickly. The size of your finished project will be your choice and remember we will be guiding you through all aspects of the project from piecing, laying the wadding, quilting and finishing. Generally beginners can finish in 4 weeks and will have the insight into whether this is the hobby for you, without having to outlay for equipment such as cutters, rulers, mats etc. Limited class sizes $100.00 for 4 weeks to start kit.  Kits start from $35.00 including pattern, notes and fabric, extra classes can be booked for $25.00 per class. 

Advanced Patchwork

Sewing circles is not easy, sometimes they will turn oval, or just turn lumpy. Likewise with triangles when the points don't match. Applique could be a skill that has eluded you, all these skills can be acquired in our specialised classes. We have a varied range of projects to suit all tastes, traditional, Japanese, modern and more, this allows students to make a quilt unique to their taste while classmates are doing something different but all honing a new skill. Classes are limited sizes and cost $35.00 for 3 hours 

U.F.P.'s

Unfinished projects, how may have you got in your cupboard, fess up, now is the time to drag them out and bring them along for a fun time with others in the same boat. Gain the help and expertise of the collective, not a formal class but a wealth of knowledge to be had with tea or coffee too. No limit $15.00
